Amy Rigby opened this show. There's something different about this performance. I can't quite place my finger on it but it just seems that a handful of the songs have a different sound to them than they usually do. During That's the Way That the World Goes Round, Todd tells John Prine's infamous "happy enchilada" story.
On Alright Guy:
- "Now one time, and it was for medicinal purposes, but they forced me to smoke some dope. Which means I could probably still be the president but I'm not gonna get to be the pope. I know I get wild, I know I'm half drunk..."
On Sideshow Blues:
- "...that, and interns. Homosexuals in the military. Just about any kind of military you wanna put together would scare me."
- "It's still hard to kick the door down even though now that I got these seven dollar thrift store wing tip shoes."
