Earlier this day, Todd appeared for an interview/song session on KVMR-FM. Before Tension, we hear an very detailed account of the story that inspired the song. Todd prefaces Plastic Girl with a disclaimer that it is supposedly a true story but it is not one of his songs. Todd tells John Prine's "happy enchilada" story at the end of That's the Way That the World Goes Round.

On Alright Guy:

  • "Now one time, and it was for medicinal purposes, but they forced me to smoke some dope. Which means I could probably still be the president but I'll never gonna get to be the pope."

On Tension:

  • "Abortion. That's what scares people these days. That, and interns. And homosexuals in the military. Some of us are just scared of military no matter who's in it."

On Doublewide Blues:

  • "I don't get out much since O.J.'s been on."
