Michael Reno Harrell opened this show with the following setlist: Cotton Shirt, Caroline, Me and You, Southern Suggestions, Blue Eyed Jane, Drive, Germany

Review by Rob Peters:

The audience was so attentive and subdued. Very respectful. Todd played many of his songs very quiet, almost coming to a whisper at times. You could have heard a pin drop at times, at least where I was sitting. A small club, maybe 150 folks there on a school night. Michael Reno Harrell was a very nice opener. A southern fella from the asheville area. He had some very entertaining songs about the south.

On Ballad of the Kingsmen:

  • "Now he gets a lot of chicks."

On Tension:

  • "Weapons of mass destruction. That's what scares people these days. That, and/or a lack thereof them."

On Talkin' Seattle Grunge Rock Blues:

  • "Space Needle, Eddie Vedder, Ichiro Suzuki"
  • "...shave off my goatee, pack up the van, I'm gonna go down to California, I'm gonna buy a horse, I'm gonna ride it out into the middle of the desert. Hot as it can get. I'm gonna name that motherfucker."

On Alright Guy:

  • "I know I'm dirty and I know I've smoked a lot of dope. That's the lyric that kept me off the Garth Brooks record."
  • "It ain't like I went on Saturday Night Live and tore up pictures of the pope."
  • "Hey, old timer, we're gonna have to ask you to get out of your car."
